“Big enough to serve, small enough to care.” Since opening its doors in March 1993, the West Plains Civic Center has proven to be a popular facility for everything from concerts to circuses, championship rodeos to athletic events and conferences to conventions. One look at the West Plains Civic Center and you’ll see why it is a landmark for educational, cultural and athletic events.

• Event Staffing – fully trained, in-house ushers and ticket takers, all in uniform. For your safety and convenience, we also have a complete staff of security police officers and emergency medical technicians.
• Operations – experienced stagehands, riggers and spotlight operators are always available to help ensure your event runs smoothly and efficiently.
• Catering and Food Services – a complete selection of vendors is available to meet your catering taste and budget. Large or small, simple or complex, caterers can accommodate your food needs.
• Box Office – features three ticket windows in the main lobby of the Center as well as several satellite outlets throughout our trade area. Experienced box office staff can handle all of your ticketing needs.

Performing Arts Theater
The completely equipped theatre provides a variety of cultural arts & entertainment productions in a luxurious, intimate atmosphere with seating for 450. |
Fitness
The Pool and fitness center has state-of-the-art exercise facilities.To meet the fitness and recreational needs of those visiting the Center, we offer an indoor track, indoor collegiatesize pool, whirlpool, sauna and fitness room. A certified personal trainer is on staff to assist with fitness questions.

Sporting Events
Indoor sports at every level. The center is the official home of the Missouri State University-West Plains campus men’s basketball and women’s volleyball teams.

Missouri State University–West Plains specializes in providing quality post-secondary education to students of all ages in the south-central Ozarks region of Missouri. Degree offerings include the Associate of Arts degree that is perfect for students who want to transfer into bachelor’s degree programs, and several associate degrees for students who want to enter the workforce after two years of study. Some bachelor’s and master’s degree programs also are available at the West Plains Campus through the Academic Outreach program at Missouri State University-Springfield.
The small campus environment with quality instruction in a relaxed, personal atmosphere is the hallmark of Missouri State–West Plains. Through classes that average 20 students, personalized classroom attention, educational support services and numerous opportunities to participate in extra-curricular activities, Missouri State–West Plains offers an atmosphere that promotes academic and personal success for students. The campus includes four classroom buildings, the campus library, bookstore, student center and residence hall. Historic Kellett Hall houses most nursing classes and the Development Office. M.O. Looney Hall has several classrooms and serves as a one-stop student services building with the following offices: Admissions, Registration and Records, Financial Aid, the Business Office, Student Academic Advisement Center, Career Services and several others. Melton Hall has a large lecture hall and several science labs, classrooms and faculty offices. Lybyer Technology Center features a 60-station open computer lab, faculty offices and classrooms. The Garnett Library houses the Academic Support Center and 30,700 volumes to aid students in their research.
Flexible scheduling is available to meet students’ individual needs. Classes are offered during the morning, afternoon, and evening on weekdays. Online courses allow students to complete assignments any time, day or night.

The West Plains Area Farmer’s Market is a “Producer Only Market,” meaning that everything sold at the Market is grown, made or produced locally by the Market vendor. This is a very diverse Market with all types of fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables, honey, natural beef, eggs, mushrooms, vegetable and bedding plants, perennial, annual and cut flowers. There are all types of breads, cookies, pies and baked goods, jams, jellies and preserves all produced in State certified kitchens. The Market vendors also have hand crafted soaps, lotions and skin care products, artwork, bird houses and other wood products, children's clothing, blankets and lots of other locally made gifts and products. Seasonal: April through December.
